Who we are
The Fremont Area Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization run entirely by volunteers and dedicated to preserving, sharing, and celebrating the history of Clear Lake, Fremont, and Jamestown Townships in Steuben County, Indiana. Through our collections, exhibits, programs, and community partnerships, we work to protect local stories and make them accessible for future generations. Whether exploring family histories, learning about early settlers, or discovering how our communities have grown and changed, we invite all to connect with the history that shaped our region.

Our Board of Directors
The Fremont Area Historical Society’s Board of Directors is made up of community members who volunteer their time and talents to preserve our shared heritage. Working together, they guide the Society’s projects, programs, and fundraising efforts so that Fremont’s history can be enjoyed today and safeguarded for tomorrow.

The Fremont Area Historical Society holds monthly meetings where members and the public come together to share updates, plan events, and discuss local history.
